I've been working out for maybe 6 months and I'm starting to notice some knee pain. It's very mild and I don't notice it until hours after my workout but I'm concerned about it's reprecussions in later years.

I'm only seventeen now and I'm worried this will grow into a serious problem when I'm fourty

Should i be concerned?
Or is this normal maybe just a part of doing squats and leg press etc.....

Another thing is it possible that maybe the ligaments in the joint are getting stronger?? Because i want to emphasise the fact that it is very tolerable pain and goes away quickly as well.

any pain like that mate tells me to stop and rest.give your knees 2-3 weeks off then when you train them again go light weights only and build up.if the pain keeps coming go see a doctor simple as mate.burning in your muscles....great,pain in your joints....not good.

I took a weights class in college, a year or two ago. I wanted to push myself hard, but squatting three plates actually felt good (315?). No problem getting it up, for maybe five or six sets. I thought if my muscles could take it, do it- but my joints, bones or whatever weren't used to that much pressure. My muscles were sore, but my left knee hurt all the time, and made a funny noise. I was scared to squat again, and I thought I ruined my body at 18.. Damn

I know we all want to push ourselves, but be careful. Pushing myself to hard ended up setting me back a lot. It wasn't worth it.
