to grow after training all you need to do is get some protien and carbs down your neck and rest.try going swimming a few hours after your weight session if you really love swimming that much, but ideally you want to finish training have a protien shake then get some food down your neck.when thats settled go for your swim.

i think it depends how u swim. if u consume the quick protein/carbs after lifting, then swim leisurely then it's beneficial. it can help recovery.

but if your swimming is i good cardio workout and/or your skipping the calories to cover it, then it is hurting your lifting.

maybe swim shortly to warmup before lifting, and swim easily afterwards. If you desire more swimming, do it on off days.
If you're covering the swim with the need calories, it shouldn't cause muscle growth, but you are eliminating rest so it may slow your progress of growth, though keepin you in great shape. depends on you goals/needs.

I still play basketball since I love it, but understand I can't do it too close to lifting, or when tired and must eat even more to make up for it.
