I just bought a 2006 Weider Platinum Plus from costco.com. It is going to be delivered next week. Anyone have the same model. Model WESY7974. It looks like the old Platium except it does not have that crossbow mechanism. Anyone know how long is costco return policy. Looking at all reviews here I am worried. I might just return it.

That is just the exercises. I need to know how to get the digital readout fixed, since it keeps jumping to 10 in the middle of the workout.

I've owned my platium 600 for a year and a half. I had the same problem three times. First during sets the weight would go to 10. And after a few weeks the motor stopped altogether. I purchased it at Sears and had a 1 year warranty. The first tech that showed up checked the motor and said it was shot. He ordered a whole new mech assembly and after about 2 weeks came back to install it. Three months later I was in the same boat. The second tech that came to the house informed me that the wire harness on all the machines was poorly designed and the thin wires break. He spliced an extension wire on and it was fine for a few more months. On the third service call I stood and watched over the tech's shoulder. First he removed the back of the assembly. Next he pulled the cable on the side of the motor and wrapped it around the leg attachment to expose the wire harness. I could see the sliced wires. But the wire he put the first extension was not sliced. It does not look that difficult to fix. If you can splice two wires together you can do it. Just make sure and leave some slack. Once my extended warranty expires I will fix it myself. By the way I e-mailed Weider numerous times about the problem and I never received a reply

I bought the same one... Haven't received it yet. Let's hope these problems were addressed in the newest WESY7974 model.

I dont have the platinum edition. I have the basic Crossbow. I have had it for about 2 years and Im going to sell it. I used it faithfully for a good 6-8 months 3-5 times a week with limited to no results. I purchased a "Total gym" (not the chuck Norris version) 3 weeks ago, and Im seeing more results than I ever did with the Crossbow.
I need to get my hands on the instruction book, to re-ASSEMBLE the seat assembly.

I just purchased a used Weider Platinum 600 and have started useing it. So far it is great. The person who had it before me had a lot of bolts loose and some of the pulleys mounted wrong and the bow was not centered and not under tension. After makeing these corrections it perfoems fine. I am looking forward to many years use of it as it has barely been used. Mostely as a clothes hanger.

I got one of the machines and liked it for about two weeks. Then it broke and Weider refused to honor the warranty. The machine isn't bad when it works but my experence and others out there say this is a good one to stay well away from. Wish I'd taken the time to read the poor reviews of this before I got one. Particularly disappointed in Weider's attitute on the warranty.

I love the machine, but the wire harness is poor. In 2 1/2 years of using the machine steady I 've had the repair man here 5 times. This is one item you must keep buying the extended warranty every year.
