I just purchased the weider crossbow home gym. To start off there product packaging is a joke, the box came pounded to shit with holes in it and torn. Of course when i opened the box the plastic cover on the foot stand was cracked in half i called weider who stated the were going to send a new and it would be there in 4 days. Well i got a box in 4 days but it was the wrong part!!! so needless to say I had to wait another 4 days. The shape of the painted metal frame was terrible all scratched and chipped but i looked past that because its not for looking pretty.
I the directions for assembly are terrible it took myself and a friend app 6 hours to assemble (were both mechanics). Luckily all the parts were there which was nice, but the forgot to drill one hole in one of the rods for the end cap which i had to do.
So after waiting 2 weeks to have it shipped to me from weider and 8 more additional day plus 6 hours to assemble , basically i month later it was together lol!
The machine itself is great i works wonderful and i believe is better than the bow flex so far... so basically the cons are there customer service and there packaging department suck!!! the pro's are so far the machine is working wel and i have no complaints there but im going to give it a few weeks....

I have just purchased a used Weider Platinum Plus (Mod. WESY7873.2). I'm not sure that the power transformer that I have for it is the correct one. Could someone let me know what the info. on the transformer should be. This one has the following:

AC Adaptor
Plug-in class 2 Transformer
Model: JOD-48U-22
Input: AC 120v 60Hz 200mA
Output:DC 12V 1.2A

I'm having problems getting the machine to work and have ordered a new control panel but I don't want to hook this transformer up with the new part if it is not the right one (i.e., wrong voltage, mA, etc.).

Any help would be appreciated.

Hey many thanks to this forum.
My Platinum xp600 broke down on me a few days ago. No motor working. Just opened the back up and was thinking how to check the motor. Decided to do a yahoo search for any wiring diagrams. Came onto this site and read all about the bad electrical harness problems and broken wires. Gone back to the machine followed all the wiring and bingo their it is 2 broken wires broken behind the metal frame. Now going to remove the harness and check all the wiring.
Looks like this forum has saved me a lot of time and money.
Thanks

Do not buy fitness equipment from Sears either.

I bought a Weider Fitness Machine from Sears Boca Raton to use for physical therapy. After a couple times of month long

repairs, I am now throwing the machine away. They refuse to give me credit or refund. If I didn't need it for physical

therapy I would not have bought it. Service consists missed appointments, surveys, and long delays for part orders.

It's broken again and I will have to purchase another one. I'm out almost a thousand dollars.

Note - it still has 6 years on the warranty but I'm through with Sears!

Never Buy from Sears!
